My name is Troy Howell, I am 43 years old. My family and I live in Meridian, Idaho. I graduated from Middelton High School in 1988. I served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Dublin, Ireland. After returning from my mission, I attended and graduated from Rick's College with an associates degree. I then attended Boise State University and graduated with a bachelors degree and a masters. I have been a full-time seminary teacher for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and have just recently had to stop working at the Meridian High School Seminary.

I love my family and have been blessed with a great wife, Mary, and four beautiful children. They have supported me so much during this ordeal. My oldest daughter, Cheryl, is 16. My son, Corbin, is 15. My second daughter, Maggie, is 13 and my youngest son, Trevor, is 7.

I have a rare form of pancreatic cancer. I was diagnosed November 2011 with neuro-endocrine pancreatic carcinoma. It was already stage 4 when discovered. I have put up a hard and good fight for almost a year but my treatments have failed to stop this dreaded disease.

Mary and I have our testimonies firmly grounded in the atonement and love of Jesus Christ. I have limited time left with my family but Mary and I have both been strengthened and are at peace with God's plan for us.

Now with the reality of my death and having to leave my family behind, we are faced with profound medical bills and funeral expenses. If you would like to donate we have set up a fund through this web site to Idaho Central Credit Union. It is called the Troy Howell Cancer Fund.
